A virtual meeting of the NCPRE Advisory Committee was held on December 10, 2024. The meetings have been held annually since 2011, and this was the 13th such meeting. Almost all members of the Advisory Committee were present: Prof. K. P. Kaliappan (Dean Strategy, IIT Bombay) (Chairman), Prof. Kamanio Chattopadhyay (IISc), Mr. Ardeshir Contractor (CEO, AA India), Dr. Bharat Bhargava (ex-DG, ONGC), Prof. Richard Corkish (UNSW), Prof. Ajeet Rohatgi (Georgia Tech), Dr. William Tumas (NREL), Prof. Armin Aberle (SERIS), Dr. Vijayamohanan K. Pillai (IISER), Prof. Gary Hodes (Weizman Institute of Science), Prof. Sir Richard Friend (Cambridge University), Prof. Sachin Patwardhan, (Dean R&D IITB), Prof. Manaswita Bose (Head ESE, IITB), Prof. Harish Pillai (Head EE, IITB), Prof. Baylon Fernandes (PI NCPRE and Co-Convenor) and Prof. Suryanarayana Doolla (PI NCPRE and Co-Convenor). Prof. Surya Doolla, PI NCPRE and Prof. Kaliappan, Chairman of the Advisory Committee, welcomed the members, and thanked them for their advice and contributions to NCPRE over the years. Prof. Patwardhan, Dean R&D mentioned that NCPRE is one of the important research centres at IIT Bombay, and thanked MNRE for its continued support since 2010. The Group Heads of NCPRE made presentations of their activities over the last year: Dinesh Kabra and Anil Kottantharayil (Solar Cells and Materials), B. G. Fernandes on behalf of Sandeep Anand (Power Electronics and Grid Integration), Narendra Shiradkar (PV Deployments and Reliability) and B.G. Fernandes (Education and Outreach). This was followed by an hour-long discussion and comments by the Advisory Committee members. The members were unanimous in their appreciation of the work done by NCPRE, and praised the consistent progress over the years which has led to NCPRE being recognized as a leading global R&D Centre in the area of Solar PV.
