NCPRE / IIT Bombay have been working with PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt), the National Metrology Institute of Germany, on various Indo-German collaborative initiatives and programs since 2022. In the initial years, the collaboration was focused on development of technical capability for secondary PV module calibration at NCPRE. In the following years, Prof. Narendra Shiradkar participated in the trainer's training program on Quality Assurance in PV Module Manufacturing, organized by PTB in Ahmedabad, Bangalore and later in Germany (2025). During the visit to Germany, there were in-depth interactions on various topics related to PV module testing at PI Berlin and primary and secondary calibration of PV cells and modules at PTB. Later during November 2025, Prof. Shiradkar also participated in the technical program organized by PTB around the Asia PVSEC conference in Bangkok where several new interactions with the technical experts involved in PV module testing from South East Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia were initiated. Recently, in July 2026, two independent personnel appointed by PTB visited NCPRE for acquiring the feedback and assessing the impact of this collaboration which has lasted for several years.
