On October 18, 2024, the MNRE Secretary Shri Prashant Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary Shri Sudeep Jain and R&D Advisor Dr. Arun Kumar Tripathi, visited NCPRE at IIT Bombay. This high-level visit aimed to review the cutting-edge research initiatives and developments in renewable energy technologies in IITB. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Ravindra Gudi, Officiating Director, IIT Bombay and Prof. B. G. Fernandes, PI of NCPRE, together with the faculty and researchers from NCPRE. During their visit, the MNRE team visited several key facilities, including the Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Solar Cells Laboratory, Power Electronics Laboratories, and the Battery Prototyping Laboratory. The tour allowed the visitors to gain an in-depth view of NCPRE's diverse R&D initiatives, which include the development of efficient four-terminal perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells, advances in power electronics essential for solar energy applications, and innovations in energy storage solutions.
Shri Prashant Kumar Singh and the delegation commended the work at NCPRE, expressing appreciation for the team’s dedication towards sustainable energy solutions. This visit highlighted MNRE’s commitment to support leading research institutions to foster innovations in renewable energy, aligning with India’s ambitious goals for solar energy adoption and carbon neutrality.
