The MultiTerawatt Workshops are held every two years and are by-invitation-only gatherings of global solar experts to discuss the paths to attain multi-TW of solar PV. They are jointly organized by the three major global R&D centres: NREL (USA), Fraunhofer (Germany) and AIST (Japan). NCPRE (recognized as India’s leading research centre in PV) has been invited to these Workshops since 2020.
The 2024 Workshop was held in Pacific Grove, California in June 2024, and was attended by Prof. Juzer Vasi, who represented NCPRE. The select group discussed the opportunities to achieve major transitions to solar energy, and envisaged 70 TW of PV deployment globally by 2050.
