AnyD Materials Pvt. Ltd. (https://anydmaterial.com/) is a deep-tech startup originating from long-term research carried out at the Particulate Materials Laboratory, Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, IIT Bombay. Founded in November 2023 by Dr. Seema Negi, Dr. Shweta Singh, and Prof. Parag Bhargava (an NCPRE faculty member), the company was established to translate advanced particulate and functional materials research into scalable, industry-ready technologies. Silver metallisation paste research at the Particulate Materials Laboratory has been pursued continuously for over a decade, forming a strong academic and technical foundation for AnyD’s current work. This includes multiple master’s theses and doctoral research, most notably the Ph.D. work of Dr. Shiwani Pareek on screen-printable silver pastes for front-side metallisation of silicon solar cells. This research generated critical insights into paste formulation, glass frit chemistry, interfacial contact formation, adhesion, and process optimisation—key parameters governing solar cell efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability. Building on this foundation, AnyD Materials is focused on developing indigenous silver-based metallisation pastes for photovoltaic applications. As part of this effort, AnyD is establishing a pilot-scale silver metallisation paste facility with technical and research support from the National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE), IIT Bombay. NCPRE’s expertise in solar cell fabrication, materials characterisation, and reliability testing enables systematic validation and scale-up of paste formulations under application-relevant conditions, bridging the gap between laboratory research and industrial manufacturing. Looking ahead, AnyD Materials has initiated development of silver- coated copper metallization paste to reduce silver consumption while preserving electrical performance and long-term reliability of solar cell. By integrating decade-long academic research, pilot-scale capability, and forward- looking materials innovation, AnyD is building an indigenous metallisation ecosystem to support India’s clean energy manufacturing and PV manufacturing.
